We recently had the joy of working with long term client Michelle Grant, alongside her partners Toya Bezzola and Alexandra Gerber, on their new Switzerland-based organisation, FoodHaus, a place where learning, creativity and action come together to shape a better food future.
Together, Michelle, Toya and Alexandra founded FoodHaus to support the changemakers of tomorrow, those looking to rethink, reimagine and regenerate the way we grow, share and value food. Through their Fellowship for Action program, FoodHaus nurtures people and ideas that have the potential to make a real and lasting difference.
It’s a brand with a big heart and a bold mission, and we felt lucky to be invited along to help bring it to life.
Starting with a strong foundation
From our first discovery call with the team, it was clear that they had a beautiful vision for FoodHaus. They were drawn to the structure and balance of Bauhaus design, the way geometry and colour come together in a functional, thoughtful way. They imagined a brand with subtle nods to food and nature, without leaning too literally into it. It needed to feel professional and trustworthy but not too institutional or corporate.
Our role was to take this brief and craft something that felt true to the heart of FoodHaus, a brand that seamlessly blends purpose and beauty, creativity and clarity.

Exploring the look and feel
Graphic Designers Mel and Jas immersed themselves in the brief and crafted two creative directions that felt both playful and purposeful. Starting with a mood board and moving into concept development, they carefully played with colour palettes, Bauhaus inspired shapes, patterns and typography, weaving together elements that captured both the spirit and story behind FoodHaus.

Concept 1 draws from an autumnal palette of earthy greens, browns and terracottas, balanced with fresh blues for contrast. The warm, sophisticated colour scheme reflects themes of food systems, growth, and education. Inspired by Bauhaus, the identity features geometric shapes turned into flexible patterns. The logo combines contrasting fonts to create a legible, reputable mark, complemented by a creative and adaptable palette.

Concept 2 embraces Bauhaus more boldly, using geometric forms to create food and nature inspired graphics. Its bright, vibrant palette feels energetic and inviting, reflecting the excitement of the subject matter. The bold, minimal logo allows colourful imagery and assets to take centre stage, creating a structured yet dynamic visual identity.

Refining with intention
Michelle and her team loved both directions and offered thoughtful feedback that helped shape the final version. We ended up blending the best of both concepts: refining the colour palette and simplifying the patterns so that each graphic element had space to breathe. The identity now feels structured yet dynamic, capable of flexing across everything from print materials to digital touchpoints.

Bringing it to life online
With the brand identity in place, we moved on to the website, bringing together all the elements into one cohesive, digital space.
The new FoodHaus site is clean, clear and expressive. It introduces the brand with a warm confidence, balancing structure with playfulness. Geometric patterns and fruit-inspired motifs are scattered throughout, offering small moments of delight. The tone is uplifting and smart, designed to speak to curious, conscious people ready to make an impact.

Kind words from Michelle
“I have had the pleasure of working with Of Note for many years now. They have always delivered exceptional quality in a friendly and timely manner. I really appreciate how Kirsty and her team take the time to listen to what my needs and wishes are and then find a pragmatic and aesthetically appealing solution.”
— Michelle Grant, Co-Founder of FoodHaus
