The most impactful brand work occurs when we’re able to execute a vision across multiple touchpoints – bringing an immersive brand world to life.
Late last year, Goldfields Group gave us the opportunity to do this on their In Town Cowaramup project. Beginning with strategy, narrative and visual identity, the brand truly came to life through photography and film. More than simply capturing content, the imagery and video helped define the overall feeling of the brand – informing the tone, atmosphere and emotional connection carried across print collateral and digital campaigns.
Grounded in the spirit of small-town connection and the natural charm of the South-West, the brand centres around a simple idea: “Where connection comes naturally.” Brand photography and film production is the perfect medium to ensure this central idea can be genuinely seen and felt, and we were delighted to head down-south and capture Goldfields’ vision.
From concept through to final edit, here is a behind-the-scenes look at the process.
Creative Direction & Planning
A month prior to the shoot, Jas and Mel met the Goldfield’s team in Cowaramup to explore the future development site and experience the local energy and walkable lifestyle of ‘Cow Town’ first-hand.
Authenticity in the final outcome is essential – this trip allowed us to set the creative direction and subsequently, develop:
+ A detailed two-day schedule, thoughtfully planned hour by hour to make the most of light and locations, including a local Airbnb selected to reflect what you could expect to see on the streets of In Town in coming years.
+ Moodboard and storyboard to guide an overall direction that felt natural, warm and quietly aspirational.
+ A carefully considered casting plan that reflects a real, down south lifestyle, with people you could genuinely imagine living in the In Town community.
Shoot Days
Our shoot days are often shaped by chasing light, and some of the most special moments came at the edges of the day. With an early start made easier by Kirsty already being up with her 9-month-old, we were able to capture a quiet South-West sunrise with the drone, stretching across the landscape.
The Airbnb location provided a beautiful neutral base to capture the quieter, everyday family moments – light-filled, relaxed and closely connected to its natural surroundings. We focused on natural, story-led imagery. Moments like cooking dinner, reading together, or spending time in the backyard. Nothing overly staged, just small glimpses of love, cuddles, laughter and everyday routine.
Cowaramup’s unique character and charm is core to the project’s lifestyle proposition, and it was essential that this was captured. From real cows in open paddocks to the town’s iconic cow sculptures, these small details help ground the brand in a real and recognisable place.
We focused on the everyday rituals that make the location special, walking to the local café on a Saturday morning, or stopping for ice cream after school with the kids. These are the moments that shape how a place feels to live in.
We loved bringing in Jess, a former Of Note designer, and her partner, who now live the exact lifestyle we aimed to capture. It added a layer of authenticity that can’t be manufactured. Alongside them, a young family of five introduced a sense of playful energy and warmth.
Later in the afternoons, we returned to the In Town development to capture it in the golden light of sunset, highlighting just how close it sits to the town centre and how beautifully it settles into its surroundings.
From Concept to Completion
Being involved from the earliest planning stages through to final rollout allows for a level of cohesion that feels both seamless and intentional – producing high-quality brand assets that are versatile and have longevity. Our final stage of editing delivered a dynamic photography collection, brand film, and social media shorts – all ready to launch this gorgeous project.
If you’re ready to bring your brand to life through film or photography, let’s create something unforgettable together.
